We had a wonderful time celebrating with family in Mount Vernon. Keegan & Charlie have made this holiday even more special - everything is so exciting through their eyes! We love them so much & blessed to have them in our lives!

Even though the Burchs' moved into a new house right before Thanksgiving, Marci could not resist having their annual party. The house was beautiful & it was so nice to see all of our friends.

Keegan & Charlie had their first Christmas program with the preschool class. We are so grateful that Great Uncle Bob, Nana Pickett & Nana Evert were able to join us.

K & C practiced all the time & Keegan loves to sing in his "monster" voice to Jingle Bells! As predicted, Keegan sang his heart out & Charlie bolted to sit with mommy after the first song!

After a fun-filled morning, we drove to Mt. Vernon for dinner with NaNa Evert, Carpenters and the Everts!

My niece Audrey is in travelling cheer competition team. It was very fun to watch her and all the fan fare surrounding the event. She did great & her back handspring was awesome! Her yellow badge of courage was a marker to watch her for the highest jump award!

We had quite an adventure using craft glue but the final product looks good.

Trick or Treat!

This was the boys second year to go out and get goodies for Mommy and Daddy. Cousins, Ninja Cooper and recently released Carter Sizemore, came along for some good grub.

Keegan is a big fan of the movie Rio. Absolutely loves Blue, so when we found a costume that looked similar to Blue, it was a must have.

Is that Charlie or his alias Spot? Charlie loves going around the house pretending to be a dog named Spot, hence his chossen costume.

Spot with the biggest smile because of all the candy he accumulated. Little does he know, he won't be getting that much of it.

Ninja Cooper holds up his sword telling people to back off, its his candy and you don't wanna make a ninja angry.

Blue and Spot down the home stretch with buckets full of yummy candy. They had such a great time trick or treating. Mommy and Daddy were very proud of their two boys as they were very polite.

The boys were so into the trick or treating that they didn't want the night to end, so we handed out candy to other goblins in the neighborhood.

Preschool Snack Day!

Charlie's first preschool snack day was a success with Mummy juice boxes and Halloween snacks! Only to find out...Keegan's day was the very next week.

Over the weekend, we now have turkey juice boxes!

Rescue Heroes

The Rescue Heroes are in hot pursuit to a fire. Rescue Hero Keegan is at the wheel of the Rescue Gator assisted by Charlie and Noah.

Everybody out, as the boys line up to climb out of the Gator. Keegan has his cute tongue out just like his Daddy.

Time to strap on the gear, Keegan putting on his helmet that weighs more than he does.

The boys buddy Noah is ready to tackle that mean ol' fire as his Mommy Dana gets him ready to go!

Time to check out the big engine fire trucks. Keegan & Charlie are inspecting all the gadgets inside the big rig.

Keegan at the wheel, he loves these big "Woo Woo's" and is a happy little boy!

Noah driving the ambulance with a little helper ,Charlie, telling him which way to go. You know this is pretty funny if you have ever had the pleasure of ride with Charlie, always the backseat driver.

"We got one down!" Noah is placed on the board because he is "sick". Charlie and Keegan loved having a playdate with their good buddy Noah.

It was a perfect day! The boys got to have a playdate, we got to catch up with good friends and the boys were able to check out all the big fire trucks. Can't wait for this day again next year.

First School Field Trip!

I had great birthday this year but some how managed to not have many pics that actually include me or Dan! I woke up flowers, Starbucks, cards and two sweet bubbas!

We went to dinner with Carpenters at the House of Japan. The next day, myself & Dan escaped for an overnight trip to Heuston Woods, Miami University and Ikea on the way home! I loved the fall foliage, spending time with & a chance to sleep!!!

Since it was perfect fall weather (and the game was only 2 miles form our house), we got the boys ready to go watch NaNa's cheerleaders, the "Bee" aka Mt. Vernon's mascot the Yellowjacket (who is orange) and football. The game did not go so for Mt. Vernon as they lost 56-6 but the boys had a great time.

First Day of Pre-School!

I cannot believe they are old enough for school but they are! They are going one day a week to Our Day at the Church of the Messiah. Unfortunately, we missed the orientation day last week because mommy & Charlie spent the night prior in the ER - Charlie had croup. One week later, we are ready to go.

1st Dentist Appointments!

It was Pickett family day at the dentist! Luckily for the boys their dentist is my sister, aunt Shelly. They had the first check-up this week, got their teeth counted and got familiar with the dental equipment. Overall, it went very well and hopefully so scars were created for future cleanings!

3 Year Check-up!

The boys had their 3 year wellness check-up. They are growing so fast and make us laugh everyday. We never know what they will come up with & are thankful everyday that they are healthy & happy!

Keegan weighed 31.5 lbs and is 37 1/4 inches tall. He L-O-V-E-S playing with cars, the movie Rio & Disney's Cars and playing ball with daddy.

Charlie weighed 29 lbs and is 36 inches tall. He also loves playing with cars, woo woos and most of all watching videos of trains on the 'puter'.

We had a nice relaxing extended holiday weekend. Friday night we headed to Mt. Vernon for an evening swimming & fireworks. Saturday we went to the movies, then to watch baseball & back to the pool. We woke up today & decided we had not had enough baseball so we watched my nephew Carson & team win 1st place in Johnstown tournament!

First Movie Adventure - Cars 2!

Since it was a rainy morning of the holiday weekend, we decided to be brave and take the boys to their first movie. They did amazing and even watched a majority of the movie. Our nephew, Carter joined us although he rated the movie as, "Something Cooper would like more."

I am so proud of my nephew Carson and Dan. Carpenter DDS are regular season champs and they won the City League tournament. This is Dan's 2nd year coaching Carson's team - he loves it and Carson loves having a "dedicated" family member at each game.

Bon Jovi: We went to see Bon Jovi with Tiffany & Kirk on May 10th. Our seats were high but did not lack adventure: #1 super fan in spandex and should not have been; texting teenager that did not watch one minute of a show with his mom; and an almost fight for standing at a concert - how dare they!

Kenny Chesney: We went to the concert with Marla & Chad on June 25th at Crew Stadium. The weather was perfect, the concert was awesome & there was some interesting people watching!

Dan celebrated Father's Day with the boys watching the Cubs & eating pizza! They has great time while I was enjoying the beach with my mom for a few days.

Dan got to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity. He travelled with my grandpa, uncles and cousins to see to the WWII and Korean War memorials in Washington, DC. Dan said it was a very emotionally trip: hearing my grandpa's stories & seeing complete strangers thank him and take their photo with him. I am so happy my grandpa & family made the trip.

Fickle Mother Nature

We took the boys to see the circus for the time - they LOVED it. We were blessed to have great company - my uncles Bob & Herb joined us. Charlies loved the motorcycles and will still tell you weeks later that he saw a choo-cho; motorcycles, elephants, a dog, tigers and Bob & Herb! He is so sweet. Weeven received anti-circus comic books from PETA for kids - who knew - lol!

Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day! We went to brunch with Dan's mom and celebrated with my family. I thoroughly enjoyed my 90 minute massage with Wendy - Heaven on Earth!

Texas Adventure

During our visit to TX, we stayed with Dan's cousin Alicia and her family. They have a beautiful new home with a lot of space to ride the gator!

5 Year Anniversary!

We celebrated our 5th anniversary at La Familia with the Brunson and Wills families! Mark & Pam were nice enough to watch all 5 kids so we could enjoy dinner. We had a great time at dinner & more laughs than we could handle on the way home.

We had our first family vacation via airplane! We travelled to Texas to visit Dan's family and had a chance to see my girlfriend Kati & her family! We had a great time visiting, celebrating 2 birthdays and our 5 year anniversary!

I came home Thursday evening from a business travel to Florida to two sick little boys and now the whole house has colds. I knew for sure they were sick when they fell asleep around in randon location & times!

We celebrated Dan's birthday with the Wades at Thurman's Cafe! The restaurant was featured on Man vs. Food but we did not get that burger (1.50 lbs of meat). Instead, we settled for one below at a measly 3/4 lb! It was delicious, well worth the 2 hour wait but we were not able to finish.

We took the bubbas to see Coach Tressel at Costco booking signing. As Dan now says it was the day before the storm, but we still LOVE our Buckeyes & Tressel!

We had a great Valentine's Day! Charlie did not really want to participate for pictures. Dan and I went to dinner and a movie!

The boys love playing in a chair that now resides in the greatroom. It was previously in the nursery until they were launching each other off of the chair! As you can see below, Keegan usually gets the better end of the deal.

NaNa Pickett's Birthday!

We celebrated NaNa's birthday at the "Bare Bowl" create your own pottery. We had a great time and luckily the boys were entertained by passing traffic - go figure! Riley & Sydney painted master pieces while made Elmo & Mickey t-shirts to represent the boys. After painting, we headed to Hoggy's for lunch. The serving tray we created turned out awesome!

We finally got to enjoy the boys' first play day in the snow. We tried to take them to a local sledding hill only to forget their mittens at home - ugh! Once home, we realized are sloped driveway is final good for something - sledding!

We had a great time celebrating the new year, although it may take a few days for Dan to recover. We spent the day relaxing and headed to my Uncle Bob and Herb's house for dinner. I brought the Evert's traditional New Years Day dinner - hot dogs and sauerkraut - YUM!

New Years Eve!

2010 has been a great and we survived another year with the boys! The have grown so much and are getting so smart! I cannot wait to see what 2011 has in store for our family.

Myself & Dan actually went out this year to celebrate with Dan's good friends from Marion, Tiffany & Kirk. We ended up at the VFW watching a pretty good band. A good time was had by all but Dan, Tiffany & Kirk may need a few more days to recover!

Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful holiday season with family & friends. Christmas Eve we traveled to Mt. Vernon to NaNa Evert's for food, fun & presents. The boys had a great time with their cousins and were exhausted by the end. We drove back to Columbus that same evening so we could have Christmas with Santa at our own house.

On Christmas morning, the boys had fun opening presents but did not understand that Santa had visited while they were sleeping.

After we opened presents & stockings, we loaded up to drive to Marion to NaNa Pickett's house. The boys had another great day of fun with their cousins Riley & Sydney.

Santa!

This was the boy's 2nd ever visit to see Santa and it went well. There was no crying (which we were prepared for) and they walked right up to Santa. We have been practicing saying Ho, Ho, Ho! but they would NOT say it to Santa. Santa even tried talking to Keegan but Keegan's stare was locked on Mommy & he would not turn his head for anything!

Holiday Weekend - Zoo Lights & Gingerbread!

We had an action packed weekend but it was fun. Now we are just waiting for the snow to try out the boys new snow gear! On Friday night, we went to Zoo lights - it was packed but the lights were worth it.

We started the day of Thanksgiving and decorating with two year olds was interesting to say the least! It took four times as long but we finished over the Thanksgiving day weekend and the boys loved helping.

We had a lot to be thankful for this year and had a great time celebrating! First, we were off to visit the Pickett family in Marion and then to Mt. Vernon for the Evert celebration. There was lots of food, fun and sleeping.

My sister, Shelly, took me, the boys, NaNa, Carter & Cooper to see Elmo Live. We had great seats - only 3 rows back. This was the first type of show for the boys - they loved it. The show was a little long for their age and Keegan was so exhausted by the end that he fell asleep on my lap.

The boys made their modeling debut at the 2010 Gingerbread Fantasy & Tea. I have been on the committee to raise funds for St. Stephens Community House after school programs since 2003. However, I think this will be their last year - it was chaos but they looked adorable!

Well it finally happened - the bubbas can get out of their cribs! Dan and our friend Greg converted the cribs to toddler beds yesterday. On the first night we only had to out them back 5 times and second night only 3! Fingers crossed it will get better each night!

We had a great time at the pumpkin patch. My girlfriend Malissa was in town from Milwaukee & we were so happy she was able to join us for fall fun!

2 Years Old!

We cannot believe the boys are 2! The time really has gone so fast. Keegan and Charlie are so smart & of course adorable. They both love looking at the moon, playing with daddy, and snuggling with mommy. I am not sure if we have officially entered the terrible two's because they have always had each other to fight with, steal from and torment - ha, ha! However, we do not eat at restaurants anymore :)

Charlie loves the alphabet, counting, cars (if Keegan will let him have any), and puzzles. Charlie also has an obsession with airplanes. If anything is slightly scary, he is about to get into trouble, or if we are trying to make him do anything he does not want to his instant response is a panicked, "Airplane, Airplane, Airplane". My guess is he thinks will stop to comfort him which of course we are happy to do, unless it is time out time.

Keegan L-O-V-E-S playing with matchbox cars and would for hours if we would let him! He also loves Elmo, MiMi (Mickey & Minnie), America's Most Funniest Videos and unfortunately Family Guy. He especially loves wrestling and chasing Charlie & we are hopeful that one day Charlie will like it too!

Next up transition to our toddler beds and potty training. We are looking forward to the next year!
